To ensure access to adequate quantities of quality food at affordable prices, enabling the general public to live a life of dignity, the Government of India enacted the National Food Security Act, 2013. Although the Act was notified on September 10, 2013, it is deemed to have come into force from July 5, 2013.
The National Food Security Act, 2013, keeping in mind the entire life cycle of human beings, aims to ensure that every person has access to adequate quantities of quality food and nutrition at affordable prices so that they can live a life of dignity at every stage.
